Why to Buy a Green Environment Friendly Pc?

green computers
James John asked:

As Techsavy become increasingly more environment conscious, PC manufacturers are tending to stay in step with a conscientious approach towards the issue of global warming which encouraged them to come up with a new generation of computers – Green PC.

Aiming at reducing the e-waste in the environment, these eco-machines enjoy a number of advantages that make them superior over conventional PCs. Green PCs or “Eco Friendly Computers” as they are commonly known as, use a fraction of the electricity of a normal PC–energy efficient 45W, contrary to usual 200W.

Green Computers do not contain the hazardous materials like brominated flame retardants, PVCs, and eliminate the dangers of heavy metals as lead, cadmium, and mercury, which are generally used in computer manufacturing. The parts used in eco friendly computers are designed out of recycled steel, aluminum, and plastic. Their screen can also be even made out of wood. This certainly underlines the component of fashion in sustainable living!

One of the biggest factors making computers an environmental menace is its dumping. According to the data showcased by recent surveys, around two million PCs are dumped in UK landfills every year. This causes soil infertility as most chemicals end up in the soil. The situation is worst in Asia, where much of the West’s useless equipment ends up.

As opposed to traditional computer equipment, green computers save energy and are easier to upgrade and recycle, thereby making your investment worth the money. Green PCs are no doubt a significant step taken towards the monumental objective of tackling changes in climate.

Using environment-friendly products in an efficient system, green computing solutions attempt to address the factors making a negative impact on environment.

Green computing solutions focus on increasing economic viability of the product, maximizing its energy efficiency, and biodegradability of a futile product. Many IT companies including the prominent names like Wipro have already gone green whereas a few others are in process to come up with their eco-friendly computers.

The introduction of Green PCs is likely to push environmental versions of all consumer products soon. They are more similar to a small piece of a large jigsaw puzzle.

How To Clean Computer Keyboard In 3 Or More!

green computers
Sid Green asked:

Hey, your keyboard is gross and it really needs to be cleaned, I’m surprised you can even stomach it considering your friends wouldn’t even “w-w-w” it with a 10 foot pole. So I got sweet solution. You can follow these steps, and the sweet thing is you only need to go as far satisfied. Maybe you stop at 3, maybe you go all the way for a deep down keyboard clean.

Let’s get started…

1. Disconnect

Before you go all crazy with the cleaning, be safe and disconnect your keyboard from the computer. If it’s one of those wireless keyboards then remove the batteries first; all good.

2. Shake It

Turn over your keyboard and give it a good shake; Getting all the loose dust and debris to fall on the desk; meh, you’ll vacuum it up later.

3. Air blast

I love playing around with compressed air in a cans; I once huffed in a puff and had a bad chemical aftertaste in my mouth for good hour, so I advise aiming it only at your keyboard. Blow out all the junk that Step 2 shaking missed.

4. Debris ****

Debris in your keyboard ***** and so does your vacuum (but in a different sort of way). Put these two types of **** together and you got gleaming clean baby! I’ll put the duster brush on the hose and get right between the keys; run right over it all.

Any dust and loose crumbs should be 90% eliminated from your keyboard at this point.

5. Alcohol Time

You going to need rubbing alcohol for this, AKA isopropyl, 90% or better, also a dry lint free cloth. Dab some iso on the cloth and give all the keys a good wipe down; this cuts through all the grease and grime on the keys and on the entire surface. Go back for extra daps of ol’alcy if need be.

6. between the Keys

In between the keys can be just as important, so get an old tooth brush. In fact dentist recommend that you replace your tooth brush every two months, so use the one that past this two month mark; just make sure to get a new one that day (unless you like that level of intimacy with your keyboard)

Instead of tooth paste, it’s Alcohol again (just like uncle rehab). Oh yes, dab some iso on and get busy between the rows. If your keyboard is particularly bad you might need to rinse it off a few times with the rubbing alcohol. Pick up all the Grodies.

7. Going Down Under

Hey if it’s been a long time since a good cleaning, might as well do it while you’re at it. You may be fascinated by what’s going on underneath the keys; it can be a nasty world down there.

[Tip: Take a picture of your keyboard with a digital camera, or a copy machine so when it comes time to put the keys back on, you know where they go.]

So grab a flathead or a butter knife and start (gently) prying off the keys, they should just pop off exposing the grimy underworld.

I find using a tooth brush with the iso works to loosen up all the nasties, then a wipe down with the cloth. If there are some really narrow corners, you can use a cue tip with some iso; works gang busters!

8. Resemble

After giving the board a bit of time to dry, reassemble. The keys just snap back in place; “oh shoot where all the keys go?” Ha! Well I guess you should have thought of that before you disassembled your keyboard. I’m sure you’ll figure it out – smarty pants.

Yes! You’re done, and the finishing line looks like a shiny new keyboard; Mother will sure be impressed. Now go do something productive.

Will majoring in Electrical Engineering allow me to work in Green Technology?

green tech
Producer R asked:

It’s obviously the new industry that is rapidly growing with many jobs and opportunities. As an electrical engineer would I be able to go into green tech? Would another engineering field be more applicable, like mechanical? Electrical as far as I’m concerned is circuits, programming, and also the theory behind it. And beyond just working at one of these companies, would I be able to operate as someone important on the business side due to my knowledge of my industry?

Hybrio / Ultralast NiMH ULSD AA rechargeable batteries (pack of four)

Hybrio / Ultralast NiMH ULSD AA rechargeable batteries (pack of four)

The Hybrio / Ultralast ultra low self discharge (ULSD)rechargeable battery is ready-to-use NiMH technology, meaning you can use it right out of the package, just like a disposable alkaline battery. The advanced technology used in Hybrio batteries allows them to retain a long-term charge – even if they are not used for months – and also be recharged up to 500 times, combining for the first time the instant-power convenience of disposable alkaline batteries with the reuse and long life benefits of rechargeables. Not only is the Hybrio better for the environment because it is rechargeable, but it is also lasts three to four times longer than a standard disposable battery. These Hybrio 2000mAh AA batteries will retain their charge for MUCH longer, when stored, than the high capacity/high drain batteries i.e.- 2400-2700mAh Ultralast claims that after 6 months of storage the battery will retain 90% of their capacity – since this is really new NiMH technology we will see if this is really true but if they are only half right, this is really exciting!
